[The x86-64 port is alive and kicking, the info below is left because maybe it's helpful] We're examining the feasibility of an AMD64 (f.k.a x86-64) port. Entities interested in helping fund it should also look at the overall scope and funding details at http://b9.com/sbcl-amd64.html

The work falls into two halves: general changes to SBCL to give it a 64 bit lispobj, and the AMD64 backend itself. Some work has already been done on the former, using Alpha (because the backend exists, and access to the hardware is easy to arrange) to test. Issues identified so far -
