Threading on PPC

Currently, Threading only works on x86 and x86-64 architectures. This page is an attempt to describe tasks that need to be done to make threading work for the PPC architecture.

A partial list of the things that (I assume, please correct as needed!) need to happen in order to get sb-threads working on PPC are:

• GENCGC needs to be ported to PPC (see GENCGC-ppc)
• get_spinlock needs to be written
• SIG_INTERRUPT_THREAD and SIG_STOP_FOR_GC need to get mapped to Darwin signals (for ppc/Darwin, anyway)
• futex calls need to be removed from target-thread.lisp and replaced with pthread-y equivalents
• remove inline x86 ASM from threaded version of alloc in gencgc.c
