src/assembly

contains the source-file assembler and architecture-specific subdirectories holding assembly code for that architecture.

src/code

contains Lisp code for the runtime system and standard CL utilities.

src/cold

contains code used while building SBCL.

src/compiler

contains the Python compiler. Has architecture-specific subdirectories which hold backends for different machines. The generic subdirectory holds code that is shared across most backends.

src/pcl

contains the PCL implementation of CLOS.

src/runtime

contains C code for the runtime system.

tests

contains tests.

tools-for-build

contains tools used for building SBCL.
