Porting notes based on Daniel Barlow's hazy recollection of the Alpha experience were posted to sbcl-devel? and can be found in the Geocrawler archives or at Sourceforge when Geocrawler doesn't work. The subsequent PPC port seemed to indicate that they're not too far off the truth

It should be noted that all of the CMUCL backends have now been ported (except for PC RT, with which we may not bother), so the first half of this document is no longer all that interesting. It does however still contain some information about the runtime and debugging tips with SBCl backend hackers might be interested in (and which really ought to be refactored into the appropriate pages here on sbcl-internals)
